The storm and strong winds that came in Hathras on the morning of 11 May gave a big shock to the electricity system. At some places the wires broke and at some places there was a break down in the feeders. Due to this, there was power outage for two to four hours in many areas of the city and rural areas. People had to face problems without electricity.
On the morning of 11th May the weather suddenly deteriorated. Strong storm and winds shook the electric wires. There was break down in many feeders from the city to the rural areas and many feeders had to be closed as a precautionary measure. Electricity supply was affected from city to rural areas. In some places there was power failure for one to two to three hours. People’s domestic work remained affected due to power outage. Most of the people had to face the problem of water. After the storm subsided, electricity supply was gradually restored. Only then could people’s work get back on track.
During the storm, some feeders broke down and some feeders had to be closed as a precaution. Due to this, supply may have been affected for some time in some areas. The supply was restored after the storm subsided.-Manish Kumar, Superintending Engineer Electricity Corporation.
Electricity will remain disrupted in many areas on May 12
Hathras Executive Engineer City Electricity Corporation Abhishek Singh said that on May 12, the work of replacement of VCB will be done at 33/11 KV substation located on Mathura Road, Odhpura. Due to this, the urban areas connected to the sub-centre are Ramanpur, Balapatti, Srinagar, Gulab, Kamla Bazaar, Sasni Gate, Iglas Road, Tabela Gali, Ghantaghar, Radha Valley, Anmol Garden, Vinayak Enclave, Maheshwari Colony, Lohia Nagar, Hanuman Gali, Circular Road. Electricity at places like , Tabela Gali etc. will be affected from 10 am to 5 pm.
Apart from this, maintenance and repair work will be done at 33/11 KV substation located in Naval Nagar Pragathipuram of the city. Due to this, electricity will remain disrupted in areas like Naval Nagar, Industrial Area, Saket Colony, Labor Colony, Aligarh Road etc. from 8 am to 10 am.
